The Discrete Charm of the Transylvanian Aristocracy

The Hungarian aristocracy of Transylvania suffered its worst blow at the beginning of the 20th century, when Romania gained control of Transylvania after the First World War, and most of its members fled to mother Hungary. Then the Second World War came along making it necessary to flee further still to new homes in Rome, Tangiers, London, Paris or New York. This film sets out to see what remains of this rich inheritance, and how modern-day descendents look back on the land of their forefathers.
